The Lightning Protection Committee
The Lightning Protection Committee has been operating very successfully for many years.
The Committee's main aim is to discuss and resolve current issues relating to the lightning protection of structures. The committee consists of members who collectively have many years experience dealing with this topic, and they meet on a regular basis to formulate strategy for the benefit of ATLAS members. All ATLAS members and potential clients have access to this committee to seek guidance and answers on queries with regard to the interpretation of applicable lightning protection standards. The Committee also has the remit of taking on and adjudicating any enquiry cases.
In recent years the committee have been extremely busy dealing with the developing new British Standard BS EN 62305. It has organised training sessions on this new standard for its members and also formulated an accreditation programme. Through this, ATLAS members can approach their clients and give their customers an assurance as to their knowledge and application of BS EN 62305.
