The Access & Safety Methods Committee
The Access and Safety Committee's main endeavour will always be to improve standards and give guidance to members and members’ clients to changes in current legislation, improved methodologies and safe systems of work, or any other relevant items that affect our industry. The Committee can also offer advice on the interpretation of the law for its members.
Through ongoing and continual development, both as a committee and by the individual companies of which the committee membership is made up, common aims and standards are being discussed, fine tuned and utilised to develop significantly better Codes of Practice and help standardise working methods.
The committee is made up of Association individuals who have extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of elevated structures in steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete, and backed up by independent structural engineers and other specialist suppliers that work within our industry.
Proposed working methods and any resulting Codes of Practice produced will generally be discussed with the Health and Safety Executive prior to issue giving member companies confidence that adherence to ATLAS published working methods and Codes of Practice will assure compliance with the requirements of the enforcing authorities.
